KN95 masks refer to masks with a non-oily particle protection efficiency of no less than 95% that meet the Chinese national standard gb2626-2006 respiratory Protective Equipment-Self-inhaling Filter Respirator.
"KN95" is the standard of respiratory protective equipment GB2626-2006 published by The State Administration for Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the Standardization Administration of China, and is not a specific product name. As long as the standard KN95 is met and respiratory protective equipment GB2626-2006 is adopted, it can be called "KN95 type mask".
What is KN95 mask for?
KN stands for protection against non-oily particulate matter (e.g. virus, bacteria, dust, etc.); "95" means that the filtration efficiency of the mask is≥95% under the testing conditions specified in the standard. KN95 mask can effectively protect the particulate matter suspended in the air.
KN95 mask shelf life
KN95 masks have a shelf life of three years. They can be used without opening the package or breaking in three years. It is not recommended to continue to use the masks after the expiry date, because the filtration efficiency and protection performance of the filtering materials will be reduced, and expired medical masks cannot effectively block the infection of viruses and germs. Before using a medical mask, be sure to confirm the production date and expiry date.
How often do KN95 masks change?
Under normal circumstances, if the mask is used outdoors, such as in public places such as subway, bus, supermarket, mall, etc., it needs to be replaced every 4-6 hours. However, if the mask is used in areas affected by the new pneumonia virus, it is recommended to replace the MASK every 2 hours.
